V1 also fights a multitude of bosses, including V2, which is a later created, alternate version of V1, and Gabriel (named for the Abrahamic archangel), a supreme angel sent to stop V1. Along the way, V1 encounters demons, undead creatures, rival machines also looking for blood, and angels. A series of events occurs where an angelic council takes over Heaven, multiple layers of hell revolt against the new council, and the extinction of humanity via robotic revolution.Īfter being informed of the extinction of humanity, V1 descends through the layers of Hell in order to harvest the blood of the various creatures living there. God, after discovering humanity has found and is interacting with the layers of hell, decides to leave Heaven, Hell, and the Earth. In Ultrakill, the player controls V1, a machine that uses blood as a fuel source. The game uses retro-style graphics and movement capabilities similar to those of 1990s first-person shooters such as Quake and Doom.
